📅 January 2022 – The Advisory Group was launched.

 

👥 The Advisory Group is very important.

🗣 It makes sure people with Down syndrome are listened to.

📢 Five people started the group: Fionn, Heidi, James, Bethany and George.

💻 A website was made to invite more people.

👥 Now, 120 people with Down syndrome are members.

🗓 The group meets every month.

📋 They talk about jobs, housing, education, health and support.

🏛 They share their views with MPs and the government.

⭐ NDSPG helps group members understand problems that affect them.

📚 Members get training to help with speaking, planning and confidence.

🏆 The group helped create the Down Syndrome Act.

✉️ They share experiences to help the government write guidance.

🤝 They work with local councils and health services.

⚠️ They speak out about issues like the Assisted Dying Bill.

🎉 Members have won awards and done amazing things.

🌟 Heidi was named one of the BBC’s 100 inspiring women.

🌟 Fionn became a Director at Down Syndrome Ireland.

🌟 Ed Daly won a BBC award for his conservation work.

🌍 The NDSPG also has Ambassadors who speak in public.

❤️ Together, they make sure people with Down syndrome are heard.
