Training – Yorkshire and the Humber

All of the training below was offered on a rolling programme at our centre. It is now offered on demand as attendance had dwindled. The only courses we are scheduling in advance are Introduction to Down syndrome (termly), signing and Down syndrome, toileting workshop and 6 week behaviour course.

• Teaching basic number skills to children with Down syndrome using the Numicon approach
• Let’s make it visual — using visual resources to develop the language, communication and literacy skills of children with Down syndrome
• Signing and children with Down syndrome
• The inclusion of children with Down syndrome – expectations of behaviour
• Reading, Language Intervention for children with Down syndrome
• Six week behaviour course for parents/carers WORKSHOP
• Transition WORKSHOP
• ME, my body, my friends, my life – SRE and Down syndrome WORKSHOP
• Teaching number skills beyond 10, time & money
• Two week sleep WORKSHOP,
• Three week ‘toilet training for all ages’ WORKSHOP
• Consultations, assessments and observations upon request.
